It’s Time for A Mental Detox!




Hello!

Welcome back to the Tee Forever blog for goal getters. I’m super excited to be continuing this challenge with you! If this is your first time here, what’s up! I’m glad you decided to sneak a peek into my world! We are in the second week of a challenge that we started last month but didn’t get to finish, you can find out why here. In this post we’re jumping right into the goods so grab some coffee and your favorite snack (mine is kernals popcorn, but I know it might be too early for that haha!) and let’s dive right in!

Ready, Set, Go!

I’m pretty sure that if you’re here you value self-education, you’re a goal-getter, and you’re ready to take things up to the next level. *High five* I’m with you! For the next two weeks we are investing in ourselves starting with this mind challenge. No more entertaining random thoughts that don’t inspire us to go after our dreams, no more putting our brain to sleep after a long day of hard work, and no more allowing negative conversations to fill our mind.

We are going on a MENTAL DETOX. Yes, I said detox! Lol. We are going to get rid of all of the mental junk that we’ve collected over the years, months, weeks, and even the last few days without knowing it. None of our thoughts will be left unturned. Why is this important? Because our thoughts are the foundation of everything that we do. They become our actions so before we go any further let’s check our thoughts!

Step 1

Exercise:
Before you read part 2, which has step two for this exercise you should spend at least 30 mins doing the following.

  1. Envision your life in 1 year from today.
·       What kind of lifestyle will you have?
·       Will you still be working at the same place?
·       Will you still talk and behave the same way?
·       Who will you be within the next year?

Write it down. Spend about 5 minutes picturing your life in a year.

2.  After 5 minutes is over think about every possible obstacle and reason you could fail in your attempt to become the person you envision. Spend about 10 minutes on this and write down everything that comes to mind.

3.  Now spend 15 minutes finding solutions for everything that you anticipate could be a problem for you in the future. Write down every possible solution you can think of beside the obstacles listed above in step 2.

Now after completing this exercise pause and think about how do you feel. 

Amazing right!? I do this about once every 3 months to empty my mind of all the junk I’ve picked up without and to renew my strength and courage as I pursue my goals.

Believe In Yourself

There is nothing new under the sun. Every challenge that we encounter has an expiration date and is solvable. You’re smart. Nothing is beyond your reach and no problem comes without a solution. You have the resources and the skills to overcome and work through anything. Your success is guaranteed if you’re willing to put in the work finding answers.

Spending time to invest in yourself is one of the best things you will EVER do. A mental detox is a part of a healthy lifestyle. Practicing this on a consistent basis will help you to become a clear, sharp thinker and visionary leader. Trust me, you will thank me later!
